Assignments are the toughest part of any semester for any student. Alternatively, teachers assess their students through these assignments. Assignments are all about your understanding on a certain subject matter till now. It gives an idea to the teachers how capably you can implement the theories into practice. 

First assignment in a new class is always a matter of great stress and tension for the students. Understanding the subject matter on which you are asked to do the project, the critical guidelines on different parameters, the data and information required to complete the assignment and many other matters are sufficient to make you pass some sleepless nights.

But, you need to be a bit organized, and make your plans well ahead perhaps much before the assignment is allotted to your class or group. Time management is the primary factor during this period as your regular classes and task on different subjects are going to be as usual. • Manage your time very intelligently. Assignment will take lots of your prime time. So, manage well by preparing a timeline for every job at the hostel and in the school or college. During this period you may have to cut short many other daily chores and add time for the assignment.

• Use all your resources well. Resources mean all those things and people that will help you to do your assignment comfortably. It includes your teachers, assignment guide, peer group, senior students, library, computer, internet etc. No assignment will be complete without getting help from these resources. Keep good rapport with your class teachers, they can help you with good tips and books, senior students can add some very useful knowledge from their experience and library or internet will become your best support to write a impact full assignment.

• Understand the assignment to the core. It is important, as most of the students make a mistake just by getting a superficial idea and completing the assignment on that assumed idea. They just go on completing the assignment with sentences, charts and images. You shouldn’t make the same mistake. Ask your teacher several times if you can’t understand a guideline or unable to interpret the subject matter. More you ask, more you learn. An assignment is all about your understanding on practical implication of a theoretical fact.

• Adhere to the guidelines properly. Apart from the subject matter, there are many other factors also matter a lot- the word limitation, the time frame, the referencing system, the page structure, the page format, the font style and type etc. are all to be taken into account.  All these parameters are considered by the reviewers for marking. So, don’t take any aspect lightly as your little ignorance may cause havoc at the end.

• Stay healthy physically and mentally. There is nobody to look after you, so be cautious about your health, eating habit and life style. Socialize whenever you get time, spend time with your friends and participate in extracurricular activities to stay healthy. It will boost your energy and help you to stay focused on your studies and assignment.
